LDAP authorization with support for nested groups

LDAP authentication has the ability to search is nested groups (it does this by default). For LDAP authorization this function is not in there, leading in more extensive ldap queries like
ldaps://<ldap host>:636/|(CN=parent group,OU=groups,DC=company,DC=com)(CN=child group 1,OU=groups,DC=company,DC=com)(CN=child group 2,OU=groups,DC=company,DC=com)?member

These queries are also very sensitive, when you make one mistake in the name or the group itself is renamed the entire query failes and you are not authorized anymore.

Idea review. Thank you for taking the time to raise this suggestion. Unfortunately on this occasion we have decided not to take this idea forward. Whilst we see this would help some users who have exploited particularly nested LDAP structures, we believe this is a relatively small group of our user-base and given the complexity in implementation (and the availability of the workaround to restructure entries in LDAP), this is I'm afraid not a current priority.
