Proxy Support for App Connect Enterprise Discovery Connectors

Many enterprises use a proxy for outbound Internet traffic (HTTPs) to control external facing IPs as well as for security purposes.  At present, App Connect Enterprise Discovery Connectors do not provide proxy support.  This Request for Enhancement is to provide proxy support for App Connect Enterprise Discovery Connectors.  In order for App Connect Enterprise users to be able to take advantage of the Discovery Connectors that IBM has added to the product, proxy support is a requirement for enterprises who utilize a proxy service to help secure their networks and reduce firewall “holes”.

Further information from direct engagement on this topic suggests that there would be value in being able to separately control the use of a proxy on a connector node by connector node basis (as opposed to switching on the use of the proxy for all discovery connector nodes in all message flows deployed to the integration server). Particular specific connector types of interest are as follows:

    • Request

      • Amazon EC2 Request node

      • Amazon EventBridge Request node

      • Amazon Kinesis Request node

      • Amazon RDS Request node

      • Amazon SQS Request node

      • Amazon S3 Request node

      • AWS Lambda Request node

      • Coupa Request node

      • Eventbrite Request node

      • Microsoft Azure Active Directory Request node

      • Microsoft Azure Blob Storage Request node

      • Microsoft OneDrive for Business Request node

      • Microsoft SharePoint Request node

      • Salesforce Marketing Cloud Request node

      • Salesforce Request node

      • SAP OData Request node

      • ServiceNow Request node

      • Snowflake Request node

    • Input
