This is an IBM Automation portal for Integration products. To view all of your ideas submitted to IBM, create and manage groups of Ideas, or create an idea explicitly set to be either visible by all (public) or visible only to you and IBM (private), use the IBM Unified Ideas Portal (https://ideas.ibm.com).
We invite you to shape the future of IBM, including product roadmaps, by submitting ideas that matter to you the most. Here's how it works:
Start by searching and reviewing ideas and requests to enhance a product or service. Take a look at ideas others have posted, and add a comment, vote, or subscribe to updates on them if they matter to you. If you can't find what you are looking for,
Post an idea.
Get feedback from the IBM team and other customers to refine your idea.
Follow the idea through the IBM Ideas process.

I have a requirement to provide a list of file names to a web service which calls App Connect Enterprise (V12) to provide that list. The path to where the files are is constructed based on input from the calling web service. The current FileExists node seems to provide the functionality I require, but can only be used as the starting point of a flow. I can of course achieve the same using a JavaCompute node, but that requires Java knowledge (which I do have, but my colleagues don't).

Idea Review. Thank you for taking the time to raise this enhancement idea. The FileExists node was originally designed and intended for situations where a flow should be triggered based upon a file/files existing as opposed to actually wanting to read in their content. In the scenario described, it is clear that you require the checking of a file's existence based upon information (eg where the files should be on disk) which is gathered from the input node trigger. There are other potentially similar requirements which could be satisfied using a mid-flow node as suggested ... for example this thread in the IBM community looks very similar:

Given this, we agree that despite the Java Compute node option provided by the product, it would be more user friendly to have a dedicated node for this purpose. Status of the suggestion is updated to Future Consideration.
