Thank you very much for providing further information and commentary on this idea. Andreas, the Datev Lab Advocate has recently been communicating with us and mentioned that an update here would be nice. Apologies for not keeping this public record as up to date as the private conversations. To summarise the latest status ...
ACEv12.0.12.0 added support for the following 4 Toolkit Message flow nodes to use a Proxy:
Microsoft Azure Blob Storage Request node
Amazon S3 Request node
Microsoft Entra ID Input node
Microsoft Entra ID Request node
ACEv13.0.1.0 added support for the following 9 Toolkit Message flow nodes to use a Proxy:
Amazon SQS Request node
GitHub Input node
GitHub Request node
Microsoft Dynamics 365 for Sales Input node
Microsoft Dynamics 365 for Sales Request node
Microsoft Exchange Input node
Microsoft Exchange Request node
Microsoft Teams Input node
Microsoft Teams Request node
Unfortunately there is a small additional cost for each connector for which we enable this kind of support, and we also acknowledge that so far this work has focussed on Toolkit flows as opposed to Designer flows. With this in mind we suggest using this idea moving forward to track the requirement for a Proxying solution for Designer Flows. Status updated to Future Consideration.
Even though this requirement has already been discussed bidirectionally, we would like to make it public and document it here.
We bought App Connect to connect our legacy data center with SaaS applications in particular. We are currently unable to use ACE Designer for this purpose.
There is no way to create connections in ACE Designer, as no proxy server can be specified. This is relevant for us in two cases:
1) Installation of ACE CC in a legacy data center
2) Installation of Designer Authoring (V13) as part of the ACE Toolkit on desktop PCs.
In both cases, Internet services are only accessible via a proxy server. Connection requests to Internet services are not resolved or routed in the internal network. However, no proxy may be used for internal endpoints.
We would therefore like Designer Connections to be able to have a proxy server specified for each connection/account (host+port).
Idea Review. Thank you for taking the time to raise this enhancement request. Could you please let us know if this use case relates to using a Discovery connector as part of a Toolkit message flow, or a flow authored in Designer? We would also be interested in which specific connectors are needed and in which priority order? This would be helpful when prioritizing from a business point of view.
