Changes to one of the Console Standard Reports.

Console Standard Report: Bandwidth Usage Per Node Per Time Interval

I use this report to get the utilization of HSTS and based on the results recommend bandwidth upgrade to customer. The report gives the results of usage (mbps) for a specified time interval.
The utilization is based on bytes transferred for the selected interval. For example, if the selected interval in 60 minutes and the bytes transferred is 1GB, then, the usage is calculated based on 1GB transferred in 60 minutes (which comes to about 2.3mbps). If the transfer completed in 30 seconds within that hour, then, the actual utilization should have been 270mbps.
The suggestion will be to make the ulilization based on "Total Seconds In" rather than Interval.

I am attaching a powerpoint slide that explains this in detail.

*Reducing the time interval to a very low value (e.g. 1 minute) may reduce the difference in the graph - but, that comes with an increased cost of resources in the Console server.
