Include and Exclude for Aspera Connect v4 Sync and ASCLI

In HSTS, you can specify an include/exclude option for files to sync from a folder and add a regex pattern match. In AWS CLI, you can do the same for an "aws s3 cp --include --exclude ". In other file copy toolsets, similar patterns are available without scripting around it.

In fact, "connect v4" does support filtering, but this is not shown in the GUI, it is configured in its configuration file.

by default the following files are not synced:
    ".DS_Store",

    "*.conflict-mine*",

    "~$*",

    "~*.tmp",

    "._*",

    ".*.asp-lnk"

to change this list, proceed like this:

    • exit asperaconnect if it is already running

    • locate the executable: asperaconnect, on macOS it is: "$HOME/Applications/Aspera Connect.app/Contents/MacOS/asperaconnect"

    • open a terminal and dump the current config: execute: "$HOME/Applications/Aspera Connect.app/Contents/MacOS/asperaconnect" -w my.conf

    • edit the JSON file and add additional filters

    • load the modified config: "$HOME/Applications/Aspera Connect.app/Contents/MacOS/asperaconnect" -f my.conf

In addition, the command line ascli also supports include exclude filters, using this syntax:
    --ts=@json:'{"EX_ascp_args":["-E","pattern","-N","pattern","-E","pattern"]}'
following the same rules as described in ascp manual section FILENAME FILTERING or:
