Add an audit trail to the Aspera Console

Aspera Console should provide a comprehensive audit trail for administrative and operational actions performed through the Console.

The audit trail should make it possible to determine which authenticated user performed a specific action, when the action was performed and which object or configuration was affected.

The audit trail should cover, at minimum:

• Creation, modification, execution, and deletion of Smart Transfers and Smart Jobs
• Changes to transfer configurations and schedules
• User, group, role, and permission changes
• Node, endpoint, and credential configuration changes
• Changes to Console, security, and system settings
• Other administrative and security-relevant actions

Each audit event should include:

• Date and time, including the time zone
• Authenticated username or unique user ID
• Action performed
• Affected object and object type
• Previous and new values, where applicable
• Result of the action, such as successful or failed
• Unique event or correlation ID

Audit records should be searchable and filterable by user, action, object, result and time range.

A comprehensive audit trail would improve accountability, security monitoring, compliance, troubleshooting and incident investigation for all organizations using Aspera Console.
