Allow external users to upload directly to a Shared Inbox without email verification/login workflow

Product: IBM Aspera Faspex 5

Enhancement Request:

Customer would like the ability to provide external users with a direct upload link to a Faspex Shared Inbox without requiring the external user to complete the current submission-request workflow.

Currently, when an external user opens a Shared Inbox submission link, they are presented with an intermediary page where they must:

  1. Enter their email address.
  2. Click Submit Request.
  3. Wait to receive an invitation/submission email.
  4. Open the link from that email.
  5. Proceed with the file upload.

The customer would like an option to generate a direct Shared Inbox upload link that allows an external user to access the upload page and submit files immediately, without having to log in, enter their email address, or wait for a separate invitation email.

Requested Behavior:

Provide an administrator-configurable option for Shared Inboxes to generate an anonymous/direct upload link where:

  • External users are not required to log in.
  • External users do not need to enter their email address to request an upload invitation.
  • The same link can take the user directly to the Shared Inbox upload interface.
  • Administrators can choose whether a Shared Inbox uses the existing verified-email workflow or the direct/anonymous upload workflow.
