Allow to choose to run connections establishments in parallel or sequentially

Hello,

When using the MQ client for Java 9.2.4.0, the reconnection delay to the standby queue manager defined in CCDT file increased a lot compared to version 9.2.3.0.

The IBM support (case TS008920785) indicated us that this was due to APAR IT39239 were the choice was made to establish the connection sequentially.

Would it be possible to offer a way to configure (e.g using a system property) the use of parallel or sequence ?

Thanks in advance.

Brs.

The change in 9.2.4 was to revert to the previous sequential model of connection rather than doing something new. Doing things in parallel proved to be problematic for a number of customer scenarios, and so the change - despite improving performance for some situations - was backed out. We do not expect to provide a runtime switch to permit both approaches. Instead, we are considering whether a more fundamental redesign of that area would be appropriate, but it's not likely to be delivered in the timeframe associated with an Idea (approx 18 months). Therefore this item is being declined.
