Ability to remove plan from draft product and publish the product

Dear Team,

Currently as per V10.0.5.5 , we are unable to delete a plan from a product completely and publish the product as during publishing it gives an error stating explicit plan mapping required as plans from draft product and published product differs. Give us the ability to remove the plan completely and then publish the product which makes maintenance easier as removal and deletion of plans is also part and parcel of it.

This is by design. If you were to delete an existing Plan from a given Product the subscription for that Plan would not be mapped to anything in the new Product.

Using the Replace, Supersede, Migration Target, and Migrate Subscriptions all allow for a controlled model to reshape the Products:Plans while maintaining subscriptions even when the Product and/or Plan change name or version.

When making these types of changes it is a recommend approach to version the Products and use the different controls mentioned to migrate subscriptions. When Publishing out the new version the old version can be put into a Deprecated state to prevent new subscriptions.

If the users of the old Product:Plan do not need to be migrated and should just be shut down, the older Product can be Retired and later Deleted.
