Improvement Suggestion – Enhance ACE Fix List Documentation for Security APARs

As part of our ongoing collaboration and review of recent ACE Fix Packs, we’d like to propose a potential improvement for the App Connect Enterprise documentation.

Currently, the ACE Fix List often includes entries labeled generically as “IBM APP CONNECT ENTERPRISE SECURITY/INTEGRITY APAR”, without additional context or linkage to the corresponding PSIRT bulletins or CVE identifiers. This makes it challenging for customers to accurately assess whether a given fix is relevant to their environments without opening a support case for clarification.

We believe it would be highly beneficial if the Fix List documentation could include more descriptive details for security-related APARs — for example:

  • A short summary of the issue type (e.g., GSKit vulnerability, REST API exposure, etc.)

  • Links to the corresponding Security Bulletin or PSIRT entry

  • The CVE ID when applicable

This enhancement would greatly improve transparency, reduce case volume for clarification, and help customers prioritize critical fixes more effectively.

Thank you very much for considering this suggestion and for your continued support.

    Hi Ruben,

Thank you for taking the time to raise this request to IBM App Connect Enterprise (ACE) team. We recognize the value this enhancement brings in improving transparency and usability of the App Connect Enterprise Fix List, particularly for security‑related APARs, and in helping customers more easily assess relevance and urgency without additional support interactions.

This RFE has been accepted for future consideration. We will review options to provide clearer, higher‑level context for security and integrity APARs—such as improved descriptions or references—while carefully balancing the need for customer clarity with responsible security disclosure practices.

This improvement will be evaluated as part of ongoing documentation and security communication enhancements, and updates will be shared as plans progress.
