IBM Integration Bus for z/OS 10.1 release notes clealy states bundled JRE must be used from 10.1.0.5.

Prior to 10.1.0.5, JRE is not shipped in IBM Integration Bus for z/OS 10.1, hence customer have to use system JRE. From 10.1.0.5, JRE is shipped with the product on z/OS as part of the install image, and customer must use the bundled JRE. If customer use system JRE and get some problem related JRE, then they have to recreate the problem with bundled JRE for diagnosis. This mean customer have to use bundled JRE for problem determination. But current description in Release Notes just states "There is no longer a system requirement to install the JRE as a prerequisite". Customer is not able to determine if they must use bundled JRE or they can use system JRE. To clarify this for the customer, the statement should be updated like "This means that starting with 10.1.0.5, customers must use the bundled Java 8 provided with the product to remain in a supported configuration".

Idealy, this kind of policy change which affect customer's configuration should be announced in Technotes or Announcement letter in advance (Release Notes just updated after Fix Pack is shipped, so it is late for customer's business).
