Remove user id name length restriction

Currently there is a restriction for IIB that Windows users can only have 12 characters and linux 8. See the following:
http://pic.dhe.ibm.com/infocenter/wmbhelp/v9r0m0/topic/com.ibm.etools.mft.doc/ap03986_.htm

The issue is that we are trying to sell IIB to a customer who has their IT out sourced and their vendor runs both the servers and their Microsoft Active Directory (AD) and this company has a standard for the existing AD forest where users are named DOMAIN\first.last or first.last@domain.company.com

This causes an issue with IIB as most of their users have names that are longer with 12 characters, which leaves them with only 2 choices:
1) change the existing user's name
2) create new users just for IIB

This has been raised as a negative reason to buy IIB

Idea / RFE review. Apologies for the length of time this idea has been in the status of Uncommitted Candidate / Future Consideration. This annoyance for users remains on our radar for future improvement. We note the fact that the product has evolved in the security space - when connecting with a webuser (from Toolkit, web ui or via remote commands) the authenticated user (which can be done using LDAP identities for example) is then mapped to the local user role. The restriction documented applies to the local user role but need not apply to the web user .. so there is a need to have a local userid with the restricted number of characters for each desired role, but not for each product user. Nevertheless we understand the pain of this usability restriction which we may potentially address in future. Status of the idea is maintained in status Future Consideration.
