SSL/TLS support for Email Input/Output Nodes to communicate to email server via POP3, IMAP etc

We currently have the email sample in message broker running as a proof of concept that provides us the functionality we require. To meet security standards we need to encrypt communication between the Message Broker and the email server by what ever means is appropriate. This could be SSL or TLS. When attaching to a secure port the Email Input Node fails.

As part of our regular commitment to reviewing RFEs, we have re-reviewed this RFE and for now its status is maintained as Uncommitted Candidate. Whilst acknowledging that there are some work arounds possible in java, we will continue to monitor this RFE for signs of popularity from the community.

Due to processing by IBM, this request was reassigned to have the following updated attributes:
    Brand - WebSphere
    Product family - Integration
Product - IBM Integration Bus (WebSphere Message Broker) - IIB

For recording keeping, the previous attributes were:
    Brand - WebSphere
Product family - Connectivity and Integration
Product - IBM Integration Bus (WebSphere Message Broker) - IIB

Current workaround on Unix/Linux: For EmailOutput node, smtp relay (to send to gmail) setup is described here: http://www.xm5design.com/?p=219

    I second this RFE.
Email nodes should support SSL for both sending and receiving.
Example: gmail requires SSL for both its smtp and imap servers.
Use with gmail accounts is a likely requirement.

Thanks for raising this requirement. This would be a great enhancement to the email nodes, and we'll look to provide this support in a follow-on release or fixpack.
