This is an IBM Automation portal for Integration products. To view all of your ideas submitted to IBM, create and manage groups of Ideas, or create an idea explicitly set to be either visible by all (public) or visible only to you and IBM (private), use the IBM Unified Ideas Portal (https://ideas.ibm.com).
We invite you to shape the future of IBM, including product roadmaps, by submitting ideas that matter to you the most. Here's how it works:
Start by searching and reviewing ideas and requests to enhance a product or service. Take a look at ideas others have posted, and add a comment, vote, or subscribe to updates on them if they matter to you. If you can't find what you are looking for,
Post an idea.
Get feedback from the IBM team and other customers to refine your idea.
Follow the idea through the IBM Ideas process.

Idea / RFE Review. Thank you for taking the time to raise this enhancement request. For the benefit of other subscribers, I'd like to summarise the key points which have arisen from our background email conversations on this topic.
The enhancement request mentions having initially attempted to utilise network attached storage mounted into the ACE containers, and then a traditional ACE Toolkit flow which contains FileInput/FileRead/FileOutput. Since v1.5 of the App Connect operator, we do allow users to mount a persistent volume into the ACE container. Unfortunately this solution was not suitable in your company's situation due to particular rules regarding privacy and data segregation, although it may be suitable for others reading this thread who find themselves in a similar position.
Regarding S3 connector interactions, for other future voters on this requirement, we would be interested to know if your preference is to integrate with IBM Cloud Object Storage or AWS S3. We understand that both of these options are attractive to the initial requestor.
Ideally you're after a more holistic solution involving support for a S3 connector (input, mid-flow and output) which fits naturally in to the ACE Toolkit programming model. For other voters/subscribers we would love to know what kind of data (eg JSON format messages, XML, DFDL bespoke formats ... something else?) you are keen to exchange with S3 ... the reason for asking this is because IBM has future strategic plans to make Designer connectors available to Toolkit flows, so it would be helpful for us to know which aspects of the two programming models would be seen as valuable to be paired together.
We're updating the status of this request to Future Consideration and we welcome other comments on this suggestion. In the absence of more detailed guidance it is likely that in future this idea will be interpreted as a demand for S3 Toolkit message flow nodes with flexible support for a range of input data formats.
