Restrict users from uploading certain file types or extensions

We have different formats of Video files which are below:

1) .mxf

2) .mp4

3) .mkv

4) .ts

5) .mov

6) etc

We would allow only few video formats that can be uploaded to our Aspera account. Rest file formats should be blocked by the system.

For Eg: We allow .mxf, .mov and .mp4 files to upload. If any user tries to upload .mkv or .ts file, the system should block the upload and pop-up a message.

    Hello Brian,

I could not succeed applying the filters as this is a new system installed few months ago.

From the document, I understand, we have to make the changes on the aspera.conf file in Aspera HSTS.

In the document, it explains how to apply filters from the GUI. But the OS we installed for HSTS is Centos 7 and does not have GUI configured. Perhaps, we need to apply with command lines.

    Can you assist please.

    Best Regards,

    Ash.

Hi - You can configure High Speed Transfer Server to include and exclude files. You can find this in the HSTS guide in the section "Configuring Filters to Include and Exclude Files" https://www.ibm.com/docs/en/ahts/4.4

So you want a regexp or other listing mechanism (CSV, multiplicity form/1 ext per box) so you do not allow those file types into your aspera node? I want something similar but only to restrict hidden files from Macs and Windows to be uploaded (.DS_STORE, for instance). How would it handle files with no extension? Exclude or include?
