Permit Workgroups to be a recipient in sent/downloaded package notifications

While a sender can send a package to a Workgroup, and members of that workgroup receive notifications of package availability, the members of the workgroup have no visibility if any one individual downloads that package. Beyond viewing the historical package details from within the Faspex interface.

Since a workgroup is a collection of accounts, I would think package email notifications could also be directed to a workgroup, rather than only global distribution lists or individual accounts.

This avoids needing to manage and synchronize both a workgroup population and a distribution list.

*Related Idea: Create a optional Workgroup Setting along the lines of

[] Notify all members of the workgroup when a member has downloaded a package sent to the workgroup.

Nevertheless, I would still like a sender to be able to add any workgroup in notifications (for instance, their own, as an FYI to team/workgroup members.)

Hi Michael, exciting news, thank you.

Do we need to do some sort of server refresh to implement this change? I can enter a workgroup as a notification recipient, but get this error upon send:

Check that the 'workgroup_name" recipient type field is user, distribution list or external_user.

    As before.

    Best, ~robert

Hi - I've allowed this to languish without checking in, but here at the end of 2024, I'm doing so!

Any update on these feature requests? Thanks very much. ~robert tachoires
