Workspace DataPower Gateway

Require API rate limit throttling in case of high incoming data when the SLM mode is uni-cast.

Currently in the V5 compatible mode in DataPower v10 we are not able to throttle requests as per our defined burst limit or rate limit in API if our SLM peer mode is set to auto select uni-cast or unicast.  We have two Datapowers DC1 and DC2 and DC2 is the primary in the peering group and in the quota enforcement server. So if we define the burst limit say 5 requests per seconds on our API and we send all the 10 requests to that API in one ago that is in milliseconds , then all the 10 requests are served with 200 Ok response and no throttling is done. This is seems like a major limitation for us as it makes us prone to burst limits attack if one our consumers starts sending request in very short interval of time and could make our system overwhelmed in the requests without the required throttling from the DataPower. Could we please have a workaround or a fix or a way forward to enable throttling  for high incoming data when the SLM mode is uni-cast. We cannot move to SLM peer mode Multicast as both our DC1 and DC2 data power are in different subnetwork.

Thanks for submitting this - from an initial review, it looks like this may be limitation inherent to SLM peering rather than a new feature request. So please work with the support ticket raised for a possible workaround.

In v10 native API Gateway, rate-limiting is more optimised to work across multiple network subnets. Nevertheless, the behaviour would be dictated by how many milliseconds and what the latency is between the nodes. Please clarify what exactly “milliseconds" means to you so that we could likely make an improvement.
