This is an IBM Automation portal for Integration products. To view all of your ideas submitted to IBM, create and manage groups of Ideas, or create an idea explicitly set to be either visible by all (public) or visible only to you and IBM (private), use the IBM Unified Ideas Portal (https://ideas.ibm.com).
We invite you to shape the future of IBM, including product roadmaps, by submitting ideas that matter to you the most. Here's how it works:
Start by searching and reviewing ideas and requests to enhance a product or service. Take a look at ideas others have posted, and add a comment, vote, or subscribe to updates on them if they matter to you. If you can't find what you are looking for,
Post an idea.
Get feedback from the IBM team and other customers to refine your idea.
Follow the idea through the IBM Ideas process.

Hi – Thank you for submitting your idea on support for configuring basic AUTH in SMTP log target which is now being reviewed by the team. You can configure this by using user agent's SMTP client policy and BasicAuth policy. This supports the Use Simple Authentication and Security Layer (SASL) with PLAIN or LOGIN options.
Please also refer to the below documentation:
https://www.ibm.com/docs/en/datapower-gateway/10.5.x?topic=commands-smtp-policy
https://www.ibm.com/docs/en/datapower-gateway/10.5.x?topic=commands-basicauth
Given the likelihood that there is a solution to configure a basic AUTH in SMTP log target, we are closing the request for now. Please could you confirm if this meets your requirement if not clarify how you would expect the feature to work. This will allow us to understand the changes that may be required. The idea will be kept in IBM's ideas repository and may still be voted on. It might be reassessed or reopened for additional feedback in the future.
