Possibility of configuring basic AUTH in Log target that has target type set to 'SMTP'.

Our team moving from existing SMTP host ( to new SMTP to Host ( in addition to that basic AUTH functionality is being implemented while invoking the new URL.
We would like to understand if there is a way to accommodate Basic AUTH functionality in DP log target that reports any alerts.

Hi – Thank you for submitting your idea on support for configuring basic AUTH in SMTP log target which is now being reviewed by the team. You can configure this by using user agent's SMTP client policy and BasicAuth policy. This supports the Use Simple Authentication and Security Layer (SASL) with PLAIN or LOGIN options.

Please also refer to the below documentation:

Given the likelihood that there is a solution to configure a basic AUTH in SMTP log target, we are closing the request for now. Please could you confirm if this meets your requirement if not clarify how you would expect the feature to work. This will allow us to understand the changes that may be required. The idea will be kept in IBM's ideas repository and may still be voted on. It might be reassessed or reopened for additional feedback in the future.
