Enhancements required in IBM App connect Salesforce connector in Event driven flow on replayID scenario

System: App connect Enterprise on cloud SAAS platform.

Currently We have created an event driven flow in IBM Cloud App connect instance which is running in IBM Cloud App connect instance in SASS platform.

This event driven flow has a Salesforce connector and subscribing Salesforce platform events.

We had a discussion with IBM lab advocate (John Reeve) and a IBM tech sale representative (Martin Howson)on below scenario and the recommendation is to request this feature in IBM Cloud App connect.

Scenario1: Currently event driven which contains salesforce connector will lose last replay ID if we stop the Event driven flow.
Enchancement details: So in this scenario, we are already storing the Last Replay ID and you need to introduce a functionality to enhance the current Salesforce connector which can accepts last Replay ID as an input to the Salesforce connector in the Event Driven flow. So that even we stop the Event driven flow we can input the Last Replay ID as an input before starting the service which retrieves all the backlog events from Salesforce event bus.

Sceanrios 2: Currently event driven which contains salesforce connector will use below authentication details to connect to Salesforce.

Authentication details (OAUTH 2 – username, password, security token, consumer key, consumer secret, Keystore Password, Login Endpoint).

There is a possiblity that Salesforce team can change Security token, cunsumer key, consumer secret, keystore password and they would re issue authentication details to us.
in this scenarios we have to stop the event driven flow to update above authentication details.
The problem here we have is, we will have below two issues when we stop the flow1.
1. Replay ID will be reset to -1
2. we will lose the events published whilist the event driven flow was in stopped state.

Enchancement details: So to overcome above mentioned two issues, we would need to enhance the current event driven flow Salesforce connector in such a way that we can change the authentication details with out stopping the flow.

    Update after further discussions. This enhancement is now being worked upon and the changes will be pushed to cloud soon, the exact date will be communicated via PMR/ticket and IBM Lab advocate.

    RFE Review. Thank you for taking the time to submit this request for enhancement, which we agree would improve the IBM App Connect cloud product. The existing architectural framework we have for this connector, is not designed to allow credentials to be updated without restart of the connector, so to implement this enhancement would require significant work. Given this it is unlikely this RFE will be delivered soon but we will certainly continue to monitor for signs of support from the wider community. Status of the RFE is updated to Uncommitted Candidate.
