MQ on z/os needs to show the number of uncommitted messages on queues.

Queue usage information on MQ for LUW show the number of uncommitted messages on a queue.

However, on what should be the flagship MQ product (on z/OS) it just says YES or NO.

Please keep MQ on z/OS in line with MQ on LUW and provide the number of uncommitted messages rather than just YES.

We have some applications that hang and leave their input messages in an uncommitted state. It would be very helpful to see how many messages on a given queue are uncommitted.

Sometimes this situation results in a high priority production incident so the diagnostic information is very important. We understand that it's not a MQ defect causing the hang, but of course MQ gets the blame as always.

This is a great feature that helps in troubleshooting msgs that are committed vs uncommitted. Along with this it would be great if QMGR could capture the number of expired msgs using qstatus.

We recognize that this is a valid requirement. However it doesn't fit with our delivery plans for the next year or so.

As a result we are declining this idea. While declined the idea can still be voted, and commented, upon. We will retain this idea on our internal backlog for future consideration.
