Requesting the Hardware Inventory report includes the VM computers serial number.

Presently the report only shows the serial number for the VM host.

    Since we did not receive answer to the above, this idea is being rejected. If the concept of reporting UUIDs for VMs is what would address your business needs, please open a new idea describing specifically this. Thank you in your interest to make ILMT better!

    Hello, thanks for contacting us and opening teh Idea.

    VMs do not have regular serial numbers as they are not physical entities. Any serial numbers visible to the OS inside the VM are emulated ones and so may not be meaningful. VMs instead have unique IDs (UUIDs) which are assigned to them by the hypervisor.

    So, please specify if the request here is to provide the UUIDs of the VMs or the emulated/artificial serial numbers?
