MQ on z/OS-Extend Maximum Pageset size to more than 64GB

This is useful in cases where there are business applications which have high volume of messages  i.e. when they are processing batch of messages with high volume on weekends/month ends and year end data. In such scenarios, 64GB of pageset space is not sufficient enough to hold the messages. As the pagesets are normally shared with different applications, other applications which reside on the same pageset(where high volume of data is expected) will also get impacted. The additional messages will end up in DLQ(also limited by 64GB size) which need to re-processed. This adds to delays and higher impacts to the business and may result in regulatory, reputational and financial loss to the organizations. Hence, can we consider increasing the size of the pagesets from the current maximum of 64GB to any higher value that is feasible from a technical standpoint.

Thanks

We recognize that this is a valid requirement, and in fact is a good idea. However it doesn't fit with our delivery plans for the next year or so.

As a result we are declining this idea. While declined the idea can still be voted, and commented, upon. We will retain this idea on our internal backlog for future consideration.

It would be useful to get votes on this idea from other customers so we can understand how common this requirement is. Currently all 24 votes are from the same customer, which isn't sufficient demand for us to implement this.

Shared queues support much more data than private queues and so are a possible alternative.

There are "growing" reasons why this is becoming necessary. Everything is growing. Message sizes are getting bigger. Data in general is getting bigger. Message volume is getting higher. Specifically, the account I work with has an application that...
