Improve Integrations modernization

App Connect that is part of CP4I allows integration to different backends, including a wide variety of databases. When we are attempting to connect App Connect to a DB2 running on AS/400, there are several challenges in configuring the drivers and settings for the connection. A frequent problem is that the AS/400 client must have some libraries installed and these libraries must be installed via RPM depending on the Operating system. In the case of an ACE container, it is not possible to use the operator, and a customized image must be built and the libraries installed through the configuration in the docker file. None of this procedure is documented and customers tend to get confused and waste time trying these settings. So many of them simply decide not to migrate these flows or replace them with another product.

Idea review. Thank you for taking the time to raise this idea. We agree in principle with the concept of making it easier for users wishing to integrate with DB2 on AS/400 from within an ACE container. It is likely that the standard DB2 driver already provided in the ACE container would be sufficient for this purpose (this link suggests that it is only a relevant license file that is required in addition to the driver: https://www.ibm.com/support/pages/db2-odbc-cli-driver-download-and-installation-information), so enhancing the ACEcc operator to take a new type of configuration which constitutes the "DB2 Connect license file" is likely what would be required to satisfy this feature request. Status of the idea is updated to Future Consideration.
