This is an IBM Automation portal for Integration products. To view all of your ideas submitted to IBM, create and manage groups of Ideas, or create an idea explicitly set to be either visible by all (public) or visible only to you and IBM (private), use the IBM Unified Ideas Portal (https://ideas.ibm.com).
We invite you to shape the future of IBM, including product roadmaps, by submitting ideas that matter to you the most. Here's how it works:
Start by searching and reviewing ideas and requests to enhance a product or service. Take a look at ideas others have posted, and add a comment, vote, or subscribe to updates on them if they matter to you. If you can't find what you are looking for,
Post an idea.
Get feedback from the IBM team and other customers to refine your idea.
Follow the idea through the IBM Ideas process.

Idea Review. As part of our policy for regularly reassessing aged ideas we have recently discussed this enhancement request again. Since the idea was initially raised we have released IIBv10.1 ... and we now support Java 1.8. Looking further forward, at some point in the 10.1 lifecycle we may choose to upgrade support levels to include Java 11 but it is likely that Java 11 support would come first as a documented alternative in ACEv12 (distributed platforms). Unfortunately it is not always possible to coincide precisely the support terms for standalone Java and all the products which rely upon it as a pre-requisite. Given this, our generalised future strategy will likely be to offer users the option of installing and using different versions of Java (once tested and support declared) whilst still shipping a core version with the product.
RFE Review. Apologies for the length of time this RFE has been in Submitted status. We agree that some consideration is required how the IIB/ACE lifecycle dates are coupled with Java lifecycle. Traditionally a major engineering release of the product supported a single release version of Java, but as our lifecycle has increased in length it is not always possible to match up, and increasingly we have ended up testing and supporting more than one level of Java. On distributed platforms we have always tried to keep installation as simple as possible with our single package installation, and included a level of Java OOTB. Many covet the zOS way of doing things with separation between Java and IIB. It is likely in future that we will continue to package a level of Java but also allow users to separately upgrade Java (to one of a selected set of tested / supported levels) if they wish. Status of the RFE is updated to Uncommitted Candidate.
